How They Met: At a happy hour organized by one of Dan’s friends, a guy Katarina had previously dated.

First Date: Chef Geoff’s.

First Kiss: At a Halloween party at Sticky Rice. “My memories of that night are a bit hazy,” she says.

How He Proposed: With friends, at the Vizcaya museum in Miami, Fla.

Making It Unique: Instead of boutonnieres, the groomsmen will wear “Star Trek” pins. Their cake topper is a zombie hand holding up the couple. Instead of the father-daughter dance, Katarina and her family will dance a traditional Finnish dance called “Letkajenkka.”

Wedding Jitters: Daniel: “My mom will faint when she sees the cake.”
