Brittany, 23, is a bank teller. William, 27, is a developer at Accenture. They live in Alexandria.

The Main Event: The couple wed at a gazebo outside an Alexandria courthouse on Aug. 20, 2012. Just Brittany, William and their parents were present.

How They Met: In an online chat room.

First Date: Dinner and a movie. “It was also our first meeting in person and there was instant attraction, which led to lots of kissing in the theater,” Brittany says. “To this day, I still haven’t seen all of ‘Rush Hour 3.’ ”

Oh, Memories: “My favorite part was reciting my vows. I had been dreaming of that moment my entire life,” Brittany says.

Funniest Moment: “My mom turned to Brittany’s mom and said, ‘Stop crying. I can hear you in the video.’ ”

Family Traditions: Brittany wore her mother’s pearl necklace, a family heirloom.

Wedding Jitters: It was their parents’ first meeting, but everyone got along great, Brittany says.

If I Could Turn Back Time: “I would invite my sister,” Brittany says. “I don’t know how I would’ve made it to this point in my life without her.”
