Express was launched by a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company in August 2003. It currently distributes 190,000 copies of the newspaper along the Metrorail system and in urban locations with heavy daytime foot traffic.

Express is a free daily newspaper that features local, national and international news along with sports, business, entertainment, health, fashion, career and other information in a colorful, convenient tabloid format. Published Monday through Friday, the paper is distributed in more than 1,800 news racks at health clubs, apartment buildings, restaurants, college campuses, urban street locations and at Metrorail stations where it is also passed out by hawkers. Express reaches an audience of 285,900 daily and 531,300 weekly. It's a quick-read newspaper for people on the go.

Readexpress.com is the Web site for Express. It gives users the ability to download Express editions in PDF format, but offers much more, including a blog on daily news events with links to other relevant articles and the ability for readers to comment, a Metro-centric mapping feature that allows users to locate restaurants, museums, theaters and more near any Metro location, and a robust classified section that compiles local classified listings from hundreds of Web sites.

How to Find Express

Express is handed out by distributors at the majority of Metrorail stations from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. It is also available in over 1,800 rack locations at Metro, health clubs, restaurants, apartment buildings and college campuses as well as urban neighborhood locations such as: Adams Morgan, Alexandria, Arlington, Bethesda, Clarendon, Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, Rosslyn and Silver Spring.
