Rodent Exposé Heads to District

IN THE WEEKS since the infamous video of rodents running rampant through a KFC/Taco Bell in New York City, city health officials there have been increasing their inspections, citing some notable eateries — like Di Fara Pizza in Brooklyn's Midwood neighborhood — for things like rodent droppings and other less-than-pleasant conditions.

Then, "Inside Edition" went undercover at restaurants in Times Square and other places last month, showing things that diners wouldn't want to see.

Now the "Inside Edition" crew is about to make sure that Pronto Guacamole and Burrito Ultimo at Baja Fresh in Dupont Circle seem just a little less appetizing. As The Post's Yolanda Woodlee reports, this afternoon's "Inside Edition" at 4:30 p.m. on WUSA/Channel 9 will feature footage of rodents running around local restaurants.

The restaurants in question are Popeye's at 1315 14th St. NW; Mixtec at 1792 Columbia Rd. NW; and Baja Fresh at 1333 New Hampshire Ave. NW. (We can certainly confirm that the alleyway behind Mixtec and the City Paper offices has rodent activity.)

As always, you can take a look at the District's health inspection citations online here.
