D.C. Voting Rights Push Faces Summer Doldrums
THE PUSH FOR D.C. VOTING RIGHTS might have to go on summer vacation. Just as groups like D.C. Vote and other advocates are lobbying senators to ensure that voting rights legislation that has passed the House and cleared two Senate committees can garner the 60 votes required to break a possible Senate filibuster — something that appears unlikely right now — time is working against their efforts.
As The Post's Mary Beth Sheridan reports, "the Senate's schedule is crowded with other matters before the August recess." The bill, which would expand the House by two seats, is a compromise between the two parties — one seat going to the Democratic-leaning District, the other to the Republican-leaning state of Utah.

1/3 representation is not constitutional. History shows that democracy only works in whole numbers. This bill is a total sham.
