Eating Around: Reeves Bakery Is Closing

Map It:  Metro Center

A DOWNTOWN LANDMARK is getting ready to close down — and it may never come back. As reported by The Post's Tom Sietsema on his Ask Tom dining chat, Reeves Bakery and Cafe on G Street NW, which has roots dating back to 1886, wasn't able to renegotiate its lease and will close on Friday.

Reeves' Joseph Glorioso tells Sietsema:

We are in the process of looking for new locations, and hope to have something within 30-90 days, but there are no guarantees and we may be forced to close for the foreseeable future.
Reeves has a long and storied history, one that involves different downtown locations and periods when the place has shut its doors, only to eventually reopen.
