Gone With the What?: 'Jezebel'

Map It:  Metro Center

Warner-Bros-Jezebel.jpg ONCE UPON A TIME, an actress named Bette Davis ruled Hollywood. Well, mostly.

When Davis lost the plum role of Scarlett O'Hara in the film version of "Gone With the Wind" to Vivien Leigh (it's actually much more complicated than that), her studio decided to give her a knock-off in the form of "Jezebel" — another film about a rebellious Southern belle.

Clearly, it hasn't stood up as well as "GWTW," but the National Theatre is showing it as part of their Bette Davis series. If you like "Gone With the Wind," this is similar enough that you might like this too.
